STEP BY STEP

Put it together

  1. Prepare

Cut and dry the cotton. Cover the work area with parchment wider than the cloth.

  2. Coat

Set cloth on parchment. Scatter a sparse, even layer of grated wrap blend and cover with the second sheet.

  3. Melt

Iron on low-to-medium heat until wax spreads through the cloth. Keep melted wax within the paper.

  4. Check

Lift the top sheet carefully. Add a little blend to pale, dry patches; re-cover and iron again.

  5. Cool

Lift with tongs and hold or hang until cool and set, about 30 seconds.

Good to know

  • The starting amount is an estimate from the maker’s area coverage; fabric thickness changes usage.
  • Use food-contact wrap supplies, not scented candle wax or fabric with unknown finishes.
  • Wash cool with mild soap; keep away from ovens, microwaves and hot food. Do not wrap raw meat or fish.
