KEEP IT SIMPLE
Matches the beginner pattern starting size.
Finishes ends and checks size.
STEP BY STEP
Make a slip knot on the hook. Yarn over and pull through the loop 26 times to make 26 chains.
Insert hook into the second chain. Yarn over, pull up a loop, then yarn over and pull through both loops. Repeat across: 25 single-crochet stitches.
Chain one and turn. Work one single crochet through both top loops of each stitch: 25 stitches. The turning chain does not count.
Continue rows until the work is about 8 inches long. Count every row to keep edges straight.
Cut a 6-inch tail, pull through the final loop and tighten. Weave both tails into several stitches with the yarn needle.
