KEEP IT SIMPLE
Makes the loom and measures strips.
STEP BY STEP
Mark notches about 3/4 inch apart on opposite edges. Cut shallow slots at the marks.
Wind the strong yarn from top to bottom through matching slots, keeping parallel strands taut but not bending the board. Tape ends behind.
Pass an 8-inch strip over one strand, under the next, across the loom. Start the next row in the opposite order.
Push rows close together. Add yarn or fabric until the center is filled; keep tension loose enough that the sides stay straight.
Tape strip ends behind the board. Attach a yarn hanging loop to the back and display with the cardboard supporting it.
SAVE THE MAKING
Compare these finished options with making your own.
A ready-made fiber wall decoration using knots rather than the woven technique in this project.
